Cardiology is the branch of science (medical science), which deals with the disorders in the functions of heart. It involves medical diagnosis and treatment process that depends upon the defected. Some of the defects include coronary heart disease, heart failure, congenital heart disease, valvular heart disease, etc.,

Heart is the most primordial organ which is the circuit for blood circulation. Blood from the heart is pumped to various parts of the body through lungs and receives blood back into it. It plays a key role in the pumping process so that all parts of the body receive an adequate amount of blood. If any malfunction happens in this pumping process, it means to other parts of the body too.

We at Billroth, give our patience a complete care on various heart problems. Our services include, Cardiac catheterization is a procedure to diagnose and treat heart disease. In this process, a long flexible and thin tube called cather is injected into the blood vessel of the patient either through arm or thigh or through groin (upper neck). This cather gives a clear picture to the physician regarding the defect.

In this procedure the physician applies a specific dye in the cather which through the blood stream reaches the heart quickly. This dye helps the physician to study the coronary arteries of the patient through an x-ray. This test is named as angiography.

Cardiac catheterization has some great advantages like the doctor can view the detailed picture of the heart blood vessel. Also ultrasonic sounds are used in the process to check any blockage. This procedure causes very little or no pain to the patients. This non surgical therapy is widely used to clear blockages in the arteries. Stenting is another optional procedure used during angioplasty. The preceding procedure of angioplasty is cardiac catheterization.

Blood flows into the heart through coronary artery. It is the principle artery which carries blood to the heart. In some people, especially in older age groups coronary artery is narrowed and hardened which leads to coronary heart disease. When blood to the heart is blocked at this place, it leads to severe heart pain called angina.

Coronary angioplasty is crucial and most recommended procedure after the heart attack treatment. As the name suggests this therapy is used to clear blockages in the valves. Heart valves functions as a gateway to the flow of blood during pumping process. Hence if any blockage happens here it becomes a severe problem.

Balloon valvuloplasty is a therapy, where a balloon is used to stretch the valve and to break up the scars present in the valve. This therapy replaces the surgical procedure of opening the heart.

During this process the patient first undergoes catheterization where a cather is injected through the blood vessel. Another small cather which has a small balloon in its tip is also injected along the main cather.

The balloon contains a specific dye which helps the physician to see the whole procedure taking place inside. The balloon on reaching the valve will be inflated so that the valve gets opened. This inflation process continues until the block gets completely removed. Our doctor receives all information through an x-ray.

The whole procedure takes place after the patient is anesthetized. Heart function, blood pressure and other important criteria will be monitored at regular intervals. It means a complete blockage in the coronary artery. CTO has vastly improved in technology than the earlier treatment procedure. It involves steering of special guided wires and cathers across the blockage.

Some of the symptoms of coronary artery CTO are Nausea, cold sweat, fatigue, rapid and irregular heartbeat, dizziness or light headedness, angina or chest pain, pain in upper body and arm
